BlackBerry Bold vs BlackBerry Curve

Trends pertaining to the mobile phone industry have been changing in an amazing manner in the last number of years. This could be attributed to the advancements made technologically in this industry that have enabled these devices to perform more tasks than many people would ever have envisaged. If there are devices that have captured many people’s imaginations, then the best has to be Research In Motion (RIM) devices, the BlackBerry mobile phones. While these devices were mostly used in the business world due to their excellent technology, many people have been incorporating them in other aspects of their lives, thereby increasing their popularity.
For many people looking for newer models of BlackBerry phones, the Bold or even the Curve would be of interest to them. Many people however may not be in a position to tell the difference between these two devices from Research In Motion. Actually, both the Bold and the Curve may seem comparable as far as weight and size are compared. However, the BlackBerry Bold is heavier and larger than the Curve. It is actually the more powerful of the two and incorporates features that you may not find in the Curve.
Both devices have a screen of similar size. However, the Bold has a 480x320 pixel screen so the images and content looks clearer and sharper compared to the Curve. In addition, both of them have QWERTY keyboards, as well as a 2 megapixel camera. Both of them also incorporate GPS capabilities. However, the Bold goes the extra mile and incorporates a video recorder that has half VGA resolution.
Pertaining to the memory, the BlackBerry Curve incorporates 128MB which is not comparable to the whopping 1GB memory that the Bold comes with. In any case, you can always expand the memory of the Bold using the 16GB memory slot. The Curve also has 0.2 EDGE data speed, while the Bold has 3.6 HSPDA so downloading data can never be faster.
Both BlackBerry devices are excellent as far as their design, messaging, calling, navigation and talk time is concerned. However, the Bold being a late entrant and so is definitely an improvement compared to the Curve. The same case applies to other functions such as music, video, productivity, connectivity, memory and web browsing.
The appropriate device for you will be determined by your likes and preferences, your requirements and your purchasing capability. Being clear as to your requirements will be important.
