The dangers of Energy drinks
Energy drinks are very commonly available in different business enterprises ranging from the health food stores to even the supermarket. The testimonies from the users of the drinks are that they provide the much required energy to the body. Others view the energy supplements as not providing what they promise. However, after all is said and done a huge percentage of the Americans are utilizing these energy drinks to help them cope with the day to day hassles of life.
The reality of the day is that the energy drinks differ both in the functions and the composition. Each energy drink is packed with its own varying ingredients and thus the labels that are attached to them may not give the real picture of what the drinks offer.
The catch about the energy drinks lies in the unknown. Most of the energy drinks are packed with caffeine which is a drug that can easily lead to addiction. Caffeine can go beyond addiction in the sense that it has been proven to be one of the causes that leads to high blood pressure among other ailments.
Energy drinks have other ingredients that are common in most and are a mystery to many. The danger of these ingredients is their integration with the drugs is known to elicit very catastrophic results.
One of the dangerous ingredients contained in energy drinks is the guarana which is a stimulant to the central nervous system. This ingredient if combined with ephedrine or diet pills can prove very harmful to the user. Taurine is yet another ingredient present in many energy drinks. It is a digestive enzymes supplement. This ingredient can also be found in our regular diet and it contains vitamin B6. This ingredient is fine for the body but if consumed in excess can be poisonous to the system.
The ingredients and their integration with other drugs that are not known are the scariest. It is a known fact that most energy drink partakers are known to abuse and over use the drinks and by so doing they expose themselves greatly to the dangers that may come from the combination of these drinks with the normal day to day foods.
